Nikolaus Conference 2003

Das ist das Haus vom Ni-ko-laus

Aim

The Nikolaus conference is an annual meeting for discussions on group and representation theory, with an emphasis on computational aspects.

There will be several sessions of short talks (20 to 30 minutes) as well as discussions during longer breaks, joint dinners and late night sessions. We strongly encourage people who have recently finished their diploma or doctoral thesis to participate and to present their results.

Time and Place

This year the date is unambiguous (considering the name of the meeting): Start is Friday, December 5, 2003, about 2pm. There will be talks until Saturday, December 6, 2003, about 6pm. Hopefully - as usual - most participants will stay after that for the evening and only leave on Sunday morning.

The meeting takes place at Lehrstuhl D für Mathematik (RWTH Aachen) and in lecture rooms and other places not too far from there.

Registration

If you would like to come, just write me an email (see bottom of page) or use this registration form.

Here is a list of participants as known so far.

Program

A detailed program will be available from about one week before the meeting.

Playing

Good in numbers and orders of finite simple groups? Then you may look at this game. Participants can even win extra minutes for their talk!
