Darstellungstheorietage and Nikolaus Conference 2005
What?
The Darstellungstheorietage is an annual meeting which is organized in turn by some German institutes whose members are working on representation theory.
The Nikolaus conference is an annual meeting at Lehrstuhl D für Mathematik (RWTH Aachen) for talks and discussions on group and representation theory, with an emphasis on computational aspects. People who have recently finished a diploma- or phd-project in this area are particularly encouraged to attend the meeting and to give a talk on their project.
This year we will have a combination of the two meetings.
When?
The talks of this meeting will be scheduled between Thursday, December 8, 2005, about 2pm and Saturday, December 10, 2005, about 6pm. On Thursday evening we plan a conference dinner in some restaurant. Participants are also welcome to join the traditional Research Cambridge Style session on Saturday evening in a nearby pub (and therefore to stay until Sunday morning).
The talks on Thursday and Friday morning will be considered the Darstellungstheorietage part of the meeting; they may be up to 50 minutes long. The remaining talks form the Nikolaus conference part, all of them are at most 20 minutes long.
Where?
The meeting point and discussions during longer breaks are at Lehrstuhl D für Mathematik (RWTH Aachen). (See here to find it, ask for the address "Templergraben 64".) Talks will be in lecture rooms close to the Lehrstuhl.
Registration?
If you want to attend the meeting, you can register by either filling this registration form or by writing me an email containing the same information.
Note: Because of the Christmas market it is not easy to book rooms in Aachen at too short notice. If you intend to come, you could help us with a registration until November 25, 2005.
Together with your registration, please, also offer to give a talk, by telling me a title (and possibly an abstract).

Game, Extra Minutes?
As a speaker you can win extra 5 minutes (but not more!!!) for your talk if you solve one of these games. This year is has to do with Sudoku (数独), a game which recently became popular in many countries.
